It was a big day of basketball on Saturday at Homestead High School for the NY2LA Sports Invitational D2 Showcase. There were plenty of big names staring and here are five who especially shined on the day.

Tyson Busch – 2027 – PG – Racine Truth

Game after game this spring, Busch has continued to play at a high level this spring as Racine Truth went 2-0 on Saturday. On Saturday, Busch shined scoring 20 points in a tight win. Not only did he lead his team in scoring but also distributed it extremely well with good decision making and seeing the whole floor. Whenever his team needed a play in the tight game, Busch delivered making plenty of key plays down the stretch.

Blair Fagbemi – 2027 – PG – Full Package

Fagbemi has continued to impress this spring and raise his game. On Saturday he got it done with his scoring as Full Package won a pair on games on the day. This included games of 18 points and 12 points as he shot it well from the outside. This is all in addition to his great point guard play as he is consistently an elusive playmaker who moves so well with the ball in his hands.

Zeak Jones – 2027 – SG – Team Hali

Jones scored it well in a pair of wins on Saturday. This started with 20 points in their first win and then 16 points in the next win. He did so efficiently as part of his deep and talented Team Hali squad. The 6’4” wing guard showed great shot making all day as well to being able score it effectively from all three levels consistently with a very high skill level.

Mason Phillips – 2029 – PG – 24UP

Phillips had one of the top performances of the day in which he scored a lofty 25 points leading 24UP to a tight win. Much of this was done with his shooting as he hit four threes in the win as well to going 8-8 from the free throw line in the final two minutes to seal the win. Much more than just a scorer, Phillips also really looks to distribute the basketball.

Jacoby Vance – 2029 – PF – Team NAF

Even while playing up at the 16U level, Vance had one of the top scoring halves of the day Saturday. This was with 13 points in the first half getting his team out to a sizeable lead which they would use in the large win. In this one half, Vance hit a trio of threes in addition to a pair of strong baskets inside. The 6’6” power forward also grabbed all rebounds near him in addition to his tough interior defensive play.
