On Thursday, Adam Flowers, a 6’4” guard of Downers Grove South High School (IL) and Mercury Elite, announced his commitment. He selected Emporia State, a division two school in the MIAA. In his senior season, averaged 20 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists in a 23-7 season. Last year on the NY2LA Association, he averaged 15.6 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 3.8 rebounds.

The commitment comes after Emporia State had offered Flowers back in the middle of March. He had also received offers from Bay College, Ferris State, Glen Oaks College, Morton College, Pellissippi State, Prairie State College, and Waubonsee College in addition to some division one interest.

Flowers made his commitment after making his visit to the Kansas school a month ago. He called the visit “really good.” Adding in, “I really enjoyed seeing the campus and the gym and meeting all the coaches and players.”

When asked why he picked Emporia State, Flowers said “I really enjoyed hearing and seeing how much the staff believed in me and the environment fits me like a hand in a glove.” On his future suiting up for the Hornets, he said “I see my game fitting in there by honestly just being me and doing whatever I can to help the team win.”

Emporia State is landing a guard with great size at 6’4” along with the ability to run the point in addition to his versatility. Whether it has been for Mercury Elite or Downers Grove South, he has consistently shown the ability to score it from all three levels while being able to create for himself. He excels playing on the attack and utilizing his strength to get to his spots in the paint and mid-range as well as being able to shoot it off the dribble from the outside too.
