Kartier Calvert – 2029 – F – Team Herro

Calvert is an emerging forward in Wisconsin’s 2029 class. Not only is he already 6’6” but showed some abilities throughout Team Herro’s run to the championship. He plays with some strength and scored it with his physicality at a very high percentage but can also step outside and shoot the ball from three as well as put the ball on the floor. Calvert also rebounded the ball extremely well on both ends of the floor.

Acaurii Clark – 2029 – SG – Howard Pulley

Clark is a wing guard with good size already 6’4” in addition to playing with lots of energy to be highly impactful on both ends of the floor. He’s an extremely tough to defend with his size and athleticism being able to matchup with nearly anyone on the floor in addition to blocking shots and coming up with multiple deflections in a game. He is also a versatile scorer going it well on the attack in addition to scoring it around the basket and in transition often.  

Corey Griffin – 2029 – SG – Y&R

Griffin was key to start Y&R with a tight win on day one of the tournament over Power 5. This included a bunch of key plays down the stretch. In the second half he scored 7 points including hitting a three as well to a clutch pair of free throws in the final minute which tied the game then a rebound in the final seconds. Griffin is a tough guard with a solid build who plays with good energy, can handle the ball and plays downhill, and is a versatile defender who defends the ball well.

Dontae Samuels – 2029 – PG – MTXE Premier

Samuels was a key piece in getting MTXE to the platinum semifinals with multiple standout games. This included a team high 12 points in a second-round win and then next in the Samuels made a bunch of plays on both ends including a key pair of free throws in overtime. He is a quick point guard who moves extremely with the ball. He can get into the paint and finish or distribute it out. The point guard also shoots it well from the outside hitting some deep shots a few steps beyond the three-point line.

Kash Knueppel – 2029 – SF – Team Herro

In the 15U platinum championship win, Knueppel turned his game up a level. In the win, he scored 16 points which included 11 of them in just the second half. He is a versatile scorer finishing on some strong buckets around the paint, hitting a three and a transition dunk. The wing forward has some size at 6’4” in addition to playing with great toughness and energy.

Kaiden McClellan – 2029 – PG – Mac Irvin Fire

McClellan is an incredibly skilled playmaking point guard who can both score and distribute the ball. He excels getting into the defense, with his quickness and changing of speeds, where he operates well in heavy traffic maneuvering through the defense. He showed very god point guard abilities as a freshman seeing the entire floor with a good passing ability on the move. McClellan finishes it effectively all around the paint and can also shoot the three.

Chad Ross – 2029 – G – Team Ramey

Ross made a ton of plays throughout the tournament in helping Team Ramey reach the platinum semifinals. He was especially key in their opening game of the tournament where he led a large run in the second half to put the game away. This run midway through the second half included a pair of threes as well to a mid-range pullup jumper. More than just a shooter, Ross is a versatile defender matching up well with both guards and wings plus also made plays on the attack getting to the basket and distributing it out finding shooters.

Sawyer Weerts – 2029 – PF – Wisconsin Blizzard

Weerts has a strong build and plays with a big motor to be an impactful player on both sides of the ball. He proved to be a very tough interior defender covering the entire paint with his size intensity but also moves well defending out on the perimeter. Over the course of multiple games, he was scoring some tough baskets inside as well as getting to the line often with his aggressive play.
