Homestead was packed Friday night for an electric evening of hoops. Here are just a few of the many standouts from day one of the NY2LA Swish N’ Dish.

Cormac Hanus – 2027 – G/F – Full Package

There were plenty of standouts from Full Package in their one-point win to open up their tournament. This included Landon Lethunya and Nathan Stephens but it was Hanus coming up clutch in the final seconds. With his team down one, the 6’5” wing took it strong to the basket and finished it through multiple defenders with just four seconds on the clock for the game winner. As well as the game winner, the junior also showed his shooting ability with three first half threes.

Breaker Heller – 2027 – PG – Renaissance University

While Heller was solid in the first half with 8 points, he turned his game up a couple levels in the second half. In the second half alone, Heller scored 19 points to get his team back in the game. He is an aggressive driver who just could not be stopped from getting all the way to the basket fighting though so much traffic with his quickness, change of speeds, and playing through contact. The junior also showed his great ability to finish right through plenty of contact.

Terrin Jackson – 2028 – PG – Wisconsin Academy

Jackson has continued to show his great playmaking ability leading Wisconsin Academy to a win while scoring 21 points. He maneuvers so well with the ball beating defenders off the dribble and getting plenty of paint touches in this game. He is an elusive point guard who also passed it well on the move. The sophomore also hit a pair of threes in the game including one right before the first half buzzer.

Kager Knueppel – 2027 – G/F – Team Herro

Knueppel was a key piece of Team Herro’s dominant win over the Illinois Wolves. He led all in the game with 20 points. He showcased his pure outside jumper in the game hitting six threes, knocking them down at a very high percentage. Not only is Knueppel an elite shooter, but also has tremendous size on the wings at 6’10” alongside a well-rounded skill set to be an extremely unique recruit in the nations 2027 class.

Markese Peoples – 2027 – G – Young & Reckless

Peoples led his team to a tough win over a very good Power 5 team while scoring 21 points. This included taking over down the stretch with a few key baskets late leading the comeback. He is an incredibly strong 6’3” guard who was just able to use his physicality to overpower other guards to the basket. Peoples was also key with his tough on ball defense with several steals as well to his distributing ability with his good vison.
