Friday of the NY2LA Swish N’ Dish tournament features several must see games as well to some high-level players. With all the talent including several shoe programs, the opening round of the tournament will be must see basketball.

17U Team Herro vs. Illinois Wolves

Homestead High School – Ct. 5, 8:30pm

It’s an EYBL versus UAA battle at the 17U level between Herro and the Wolves. Each team features several division one caliber players including a few high major ones. This is headlined by Gonzaga commit Dooney Johnson as well as other top 100 recruits Donovan Davis, Jack Kohnen, and Kager Knueppel all for Team Herro. The Wolves have plenty of their own talent with Ed Stasys, Kris Mporokoso, Deven Marshall, and others.

16U Team Herro vs. Illinois Wolves

Homestead High School – Ct. 2, 9:30pm

As well to playing at the 17U level, Team Herro and the Illinois Wolves will also face off at the 16U level. While this Team Herro squad has a ton of talent, the Wolves have some of their own as well. Some of the talent from this loaded Herro 16U group includes Joey Kohnen, Alex Robbins, Ja’Quan Turner, and Jordan Evans. For the Wolves, there is Chase Kasten, Kyler Payne, Cole Tillman, and Orlando Edwards. Plenty of talent and size in this game.

17U Power 5 vs. Young & Reckless

Homestead High School – Ct. 5, 7:30pm

With all the great talent in this game, there is plenty of intriguing matchups. This includes a front court matchup of 6’10” Tref Rademaker for Power 5 versus 6’8” Hayden Schroeder, each who have multiple division one offers. The game also includes plenty of scholarship talent including Markese Peoples, Kendall Meyers, Jayden Bullock, Reece Jordan, D’Anthony Brown, and a few others.

In addition to the players above on those six teams, we highlight several must see players to see at Swish N’ Dish. The list includes some well-known players with multiple division one offers as well as some under the radar talent.

Tej Johnson – 2027 – G – Full Package

While flying under the radar, Johnson has continued to play well for both Full Package last year and Lake Forest Academy recently in his junior season. Johnson is a smart two-guard who knows how to play. He is a name to track this spring to have a breakout season.

Eli Krueger – 2027 – F/C – Wisconsin Swing

Krueger continues to be one of the most sought-after big men in Wisconsin’s 2027 class. This includes recently picking up an offer from Northern Illinois in addition to his other division one offers. As well to being 6’9”, he is a legitimate back to the basket scorer as well to his passing ability and can also stretch the floor shooting the three.

Will Krueger – 2027 – SG – Wisconsin Legends

Krueger has continued to take great strides in his game over the past year. Following an all-state junior season with De Pere, he is amongst the top 2027 prospects in this loaded class for the state of Wisconsin. He stands at 6’5” and is a high-level shooter. He has multiple division two offers and should generate further scholarship level attention this spring.

Amarion Smith-Holley – 2028 – PG – Mac Irvin Fire

Smith-Holley has continued to show he’s one of the top point guards in not just the region but the nation. In the 247 Sports Composite 2028 rankings, he sits at 79th nationally. He already has multiple division one offers including one from Illinois. Mac Irvin Fire 16U and Smith-Holley will be taking on CBA Gold Elite on Friday night.

Corvalis Stewart Jr. – 2028 – G – Wisconsin Academy

Stewart is one of a few highly talented juniors on this Wisconsin Academy team that also includes Ben Wittnebel, Tyler Kowal, AJ Gnewuch, and others. Stewart is a lengthy and skilled guard that averaged 16.5 points this past season.

Brady Welch – 2027 – PG – MidPro Academy

Welch is one of the most dynamic and skilled playmaking point guards in Illinois’ 2027 class. He had a breakout junior season in which he earned third team all-state. Welch is a highly skilled scorer who can create for himself averaging 22.3 points but is also a skilled distributor averaging 3.8 assists. Welch and MidPro 17U have an exciting matchup to stat the tournament versus Howard Pulley EYBL.
