It’s tough to beat state playoffs season. Plenty of star players from around the region put in star performances, here are some of the biggest ones.

The lofty scoring totals have only continued to grow during the playoffs for Amare Hereford of Beloit Memorial. In the sectional finals, the senior guard scored 49 points.

The undefeated season continued for Wisconsin Lutheran and it was Zavier Zens getting it done. The Northern Iowa commit had 31 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 assists, and 2 blocks.

Purdue commit Luke Ertel had 34 points and 11 rebounds while leading Mt. Vernon to a regional championship win.

While he did have 22 points, 9 rebounds, and 7 assists, its more what Keaton Aldridge did in the final seconds to earn his way here. The senior scored the game winning basket with 1.9 seconds to lead Cathedral to the regional title win.

In both the semifinals and championship games of the Illinois 3A state finals, Penn State commit Jamison White put in double-doubles leading East St. Louis to the title. This included 19 points and 17 rebounds plus 3 blocks and in the other game 12 points and 15 rebounds.

As just a sophomore DJ Laye has had a tremendous season and turned it up a level helping Marshall win the Illinois 1A state title. In the championship game, the point guard not only scored 30 points but also had 7 rebounds, 2 assists, and 6 steals. In the semifinals win for Marshall, Quientin Gipson Jr. had 20 points on 10-15 shooting plus 6 rebounds.

Dartmouth commit Jake Pollack of Deerfield was one of the most impressive players at the Illinois State finals. This included 20 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, and 5 blocks in the semifinals and then in the title game he had 15 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal, and 1 block.

What a championship game Jaquan Brown had for Peoria Manual helping them win the Illinois 2A title. He scored 23 points doing so on an incredibly efficient 11-14 shooting. In the semifinals win, his teammate Reggie Postlewaite did it all recording 13 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists, and 7 steals.

The stellar senior season of Latrell Kelly continued in Champaign at the Illinois State finals for Farragut. It started with 21 points in the semifinals and then scored 28 points in the third-place game by the second team all-state guard.

McFarland got plenty of standout performances to get them to the state finals and this was especially the case with 6’9” Eli Krueger. The junior had 28 points, 15 rebounds, 7 assists, and 3 blocks.

Leading Lomira to a sectional semifinals victory was Blake Steger with 29 points on 11-12 shooting plus 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, and a block.

21 points, 17 rebounds, and 6 blocks was put up by junior Trevor Robert for Menomonie in a sectional finals game.

In a sectional semifinals win for Bonduel, Ryan Westrich had 27 points, 12 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals. Then in their next game to get them to Madison, Griffin Uelmen had one of the most efficient games with 26 points. He shot 7-8 from the field as well to 4-5 from three and 8-9 from the line.

Senior Brady Scholl had a huge double-double for Northridge with 33 points and 17 rebounds.

DePaul commit Andrew Jensen had one more dominant game in his high school career for Kaukauna with 30 points and 12 rebounds.
