McFarland and New Berlin West matched up in the sectional finals at Oconomowoc High School with a trip to Madison on the line. The first half was tight throughout with New Berlin West cutting the deficit down to 1 going into the half with a Zach Hewitt three right before the buzzer. The second half was a different story, however. Behind the combination of Eli Krueger, Garrett Crull, Braydon Fisher, Kam Meinholdt, and others, they were able to control the second half and run away with the 86-60 win.

Garrett Crull – 2027 – PG – McFarland

Crull is a point guard with great size at 6’4” as well to a well-rounded game who made his impact in many ways in this game. He was very effective both playing with and without the ball. He scored 18 points in the win as well to finishing with 6 assists. His scoring including leading a first half run with three baskets in just a couple of minutes including an and one to get the lead up to 8 for McFarland. Crull did hit a three in the game but was very effective getting into the paint on both drives and cuts and finishing it efficiently there utilizing his size. Crull also passed it well with several good entry passes inside.

Braydon Fischer – 2028 – G – McFarland

The sophomore guard played a large role in this win as he finished it with a very efficient 21 points. The guard has a high skill set and knows how to play scoring it in numerous ways. He hit a three as well as a mid-range jumper, scored it in transition beating everyone down the floor, cutting to the basket, and was key from the free throw line. He went 10-11 from the line in this one including hitting seven of them in the final minutes to seal the win. He also showed a good ability to create for others getting into the defense and passing it on the move.

Elijah Gammage – 2026 – SF – New Berlin West

Gammage is a 6’4” wing with good strength who plays with a lot of energy to make plenty of plays. This was shown early as he intercepted a pass on the first play of the game and turned it into a dunk in transition followed by a cutting basket for his team’s first four points. He scored 13 points in the game as he also hit a three, scored it physically attacking the basket, and on a couple of put backs. Gammage also contributed with his versatile defensive plays and very active rebounding.

Zach Hewitt – 2027 – G/F – New Berlin West

Hewitt has continued to step up his game down the stretch of this season. After leading his team with 17 points in the regional championship win, he led them again in this one with 17 points again. The 6’5” wing is an aggressive downhill, straight line driver who was both able to finish through contact as well as get himself to the line. Hewitt also hit a deep three right before the first half buzzer.

Eli Krueger – 2027 – F/C – McFarland

It was a dominant scoring performance by the 6’9” junior who led all in the game with 28 points. All game long, Krueger just could not be stopped in the paint whether it was posting up or on put backs. He showed good touch around the rim as well to using his size and strength to get position and seal off defenders. Much more than just a scorer, the big man also got it done with his dominant rebounding, distributing, and interior defense with 3 blocks. He is a very skilled passing big man out of the low post seeing the whole floor well and looks to distribute it finding shooters and cutters to finish with 7 assists.
