On Wednesday, Oostburg and Kettle Moraine battled in a sectional semifinal’s matchup at Germantown High School. It was tight throughout with neither team ever holding more than a 7-point lead. Oostburg got some last second heroics from Cade Jaeger to win it 56-53 and advance.
Henry Bednar – 2026 – SF – Kettle Moraine Lutheran
Even while battling foul trouble with 3 first half fouls, Bednar had another standout game. This included leading his team with an efficient 13 points. Bednar stands at 6’5” along with having a solid build and well-rounded skill set, including his offensive game. Not only did he run the point plenty but also scored it effectively in a variety of ways while creating for himself. The senior shot it very well off the dribble including hitting a three and a pair of mid-range jumpers. He was also effective using his physicality to power his way into the paint and finish.
Cade Dirkse – 2026 – PG – Oostburg
Dirkse is a high IQ point guard who plays with great poise both scoring it himself and creating for others. He finished the game with 16 points as well with 4 assists and 3 steals as well to multiple deflections. While he hit a three and had a dunk in transition off his own steal, he was most effective getting himself to the line. He maneuvers so well with the ball in his hands amongst the defense playing under control and consistently getting into the paint and drawing contact. This including drawing the third foul in the first half on the opponent’s top player smartly driving right at him when he drew the matchup. The Hillsdale commit went 11-14 from the line helping Oostburg to the win.
Cade Jaeger – 2027 – SG – Oostburg
Jaeger stepped up his game in a big with to help Oostburg advance getting it done with his outside hooting. This included hitting four threes in the game. The 6’3” guard started quickly hitting a three for Oostburg’s first points of the game and later in the first half hit back-to-back threes. Though, his biggest moment came in the final seconds. He hit the game winning three spotting up from the corner leaving only 0.6 seconds on the clock.
Jamison Zavatchin – 2026 – SF – Oostburg
The 2,000 plus point scorer in his high school career had another high scoring performance leading all in the game with 20 points. This included 12 second half points including a few key baskets down the stretch of the win. The strong and energetic 6’4” small forward hit a three but was extremely effective around the basket. This included some physical drives and cuts to the basket plus a key put back basket late. The Bethel commit also showed his highly impactful and versatile play which included his constant energetic defense and rebounding, screen setting, and a cross court assist for a three.
