This highly talented sectional semifinal game between Bolingbrook and Neuqua Valley was a rematch from earlier this season. It included two of the top sophomores in the entire nation in Brady Pettigrew and Cole Kelly as well as Illinois commit, Mason Martin. While Neuqua Valley won the earlier matchup, Bolingbrook took this one 68-53. For the first three quarters both teams traded big runs and entered the fourth quarter all tied up. Though the fourth quarter was all Bolingbrook as they defended their home court and advanced.
Trey Brost – 2026 – PG – Bolingbrook
After missing this matchup earlier in the season, Brost was a key piece in helping Bolingbrook win this one. The senior has such a great ability to run the point and create for others but also showed his scoring ability. This included scoring 7 straight points in the first quarter with back-to-back-to-back baskets including a three and a transition basket off his own steal. As well to scoring an efficient 9 points in the game, Brost also added in several assists distributing it very well on the attack showing great vision and passing ability on the attack.
Cole Kelly – 2028 – SF – Neuqua Valley
Already as a sophomore, Kelly has such a great blend of skills and physical tools. He already stands at 6’7” with some strength along with a well-rounded game. Kelly is a point forward who was physically powering his way all the way to the basket and free throw line. He also showed his shot making ability hitting a deep three as well as step back three. The sophomore also made a few other stellar plays including a bounce pass in transition from near half court all the way to the basket plus a block from behind at the basket. Kelly led Neuqua Valley with 17 points.
Mason Martin – 2027 – SG – Neuqua Valley
Well known for his shooting ability, Martin also showed more in this game. He came out early in the game playing with tremendous energy. This included grabbing a couple of tough rebounds, running the floor beating everyone down the floor for a transition basket, hitting a step back jumper, and grabbing a steal from his man all in the first quarter. The 6’5” two guard hit a pair of threes in the game to finish it with 13 points. Martin is committed to Illinois.
Brady Pettigrew – 2028 – PG – Bolingbrook
There are few guards with all the tools of Pettigrew nationally regardless of class. As well to being 6’4” with great athleticism, the sophomore has such a high skill level. He showed this early on hitting three threes in just the first quarter alone. He came alive in the last eight plus minutes of the game to lead the late charge to win Bolingbrook the game. It started right at the end of the third quarter where he drew a foul shooting a three and hit all three free throws. His scoring continued into the fourth quarter getting to the basket including a powerful two hand slam. He led all in the game with 25 points. Pettigrew has such a great ability as both a shot maker and ability to play on the attack. He moves so well with the ball in his hands both in space as well as maneuvering through heavy traffic. The guard also showed his great defensive ability being ability to shut down both guards and wings as well to making a few high level passes off the dribble.
TJ Williams – 2026 – G – Bolingbrook
Williams made a ton of plays in this game helping Bolingbrook to the win. As well to scoring 10 points, Williams was also key on the defensive side. He is an extremely quick and athletic 6’3” guard. He has great burst to his game scoring it well on the attack including a knock down mid-range pullup game. The senior made defensive plays throughout the game including several steals including a pair which he turned into transition baskets. Williams is not a player to forget from this highly talented backcourt.
