The recruitment of Carson Davis to Cornell over the past several days quickly came along. It all ended on Monday with the 6’8” senior forward of Meigs High School (OH) announcing his commitment to the Ivy League program.
It was just this past weekend that Davis took his official visit to the Ithaca, New York school. “Great,” is how Davis called his visit. “The coaching staff and team was awesome and made me feel very welcome. The facilities are top of the line.”
It was on this visit that Davis received his offer from Cornell. When asked why he decided to commit so quickly following the visit and offer, he said “It was one of those things where I just knew that’s what I wanted, and my family agreed.”
“The play style matches my game identically, and everyone made me feel welcome,” were the main reasons why Davis said he chose Cornell over the other programs interested in him. Davis chose Cornell over several other offers coming from both division one and two programs. His offer list included Air Force, California (PA), Concord University, Flagler, Jackson State, Maryville, Pitt Johnstown, and West Virginia State.
“I can see myself easily getting comfortable with the system and adapting quick,” Davis said about his future playing for Cornell and head coach Jon Jaques.
Davis played with the WE R1 program last summer.
