With his play over the past year, Tommy Moffett has emerged as one of the better available wings in Illinois’ 2026 class. This started from his grassroots season with Full Package and has continued into his senior season at Fremd.
During his grassroots season, he helped Full Package win the NY2LA Association Championship. In the championship tournament run, Moffett averaged 9.8 points while shooting 65.2% from the field in addition to 7.3 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 steal per game. Currently in his senior season, he is averaging 13.3 points, 7 rebounds, and 3.5 assists to help Fremd stand at a 24-2 record and a MSL West conference championship. This included recently scoring a career high 32 points in an overtime win last week.
With his recruitment, Moffett is seeing interest from both division two and three programs. The schools he said that are showing the most interest in him include Loras, Roosevelt, Trine, UW-Platteville, UW-Whitewater, and Winona State. Of these schools, he has already taken visits to Loras, Trine, and UW-Whitewater.
“A school with a winning head coach, a good culture, and somewhere I can play early,” Moffett said about what he is looking for in his future college program. What asked what he can bring to his future team, he said “shooting, rebounding, and high IQ.”
For the future of his recruitment, he is planning on taking visits to both Roosevelt and Winona State. He is looking to make his college commitment following his senior season.
