It was a highly anticipated matchup at the Fiserv Forum between Slinger and Freedom that featured two of the top juniors in all of Wisconsin. That being Jack Kohnen of Slinger versus Donovan Davis of Freedom. Jack Kohnen along with Joey Kohnen were able to help Slinger control this one for the majority of the game and win it 58-38.

Donovan Davis – 2027 – F – Freedom

While it wasn’t the most impressive scoring game from Davis as he only shot the ball four times with so much defensive attention throughout the game, he stood out and made an impact in other ways. This was especially with his passing ability as he continued to see much defensive attention and looked to create for others to finish with 5 assists. He made several very good passes including a drive and kick three plus multiple passes inside through traffic. There are few players nationally that have his combination of talents along with being 6’8” and mobile. His versatility also includes being able to run the point and flying to the glass to grab any rebound near him with good hands to have 12 rebounds in the game.

Bryson Fogle – 2026 – G – Slinger

Fogle scored 8 points in the game but impressed much more with everything else he did in the Slinger win. This included 7 steals, 4 assists, 3 rebounds, and a block. He really impressed with his passing ability which included a full court assist right on target and a lob pass assist while being pressured. His defense was even more impressive showing great anticipation and quickness in the passing lanes to collect a few of his 7 steals. Offensively, Fogle moves well with the ball and hit a three.

Jack Kohnen – 2027 – SF – Slinger

What a performance it was from Kohnen leading Slinger to this win. He recorded a double-double with 24 points and 12 rebounds but also greatly contributed with his tough defensive play all game. There is so much to like from the junior’s game as he stands at 6’6” along with being able to do so much on the floor. He was able to run the point and score it effectively in a variety of ways. Kohnen drilled a pair of threes in the game out from NBA range including one pulling up. He also scored it extremely well playing on the attack too. He plays effectively at his own pace, changing speeds and using his body to get to his spots around the paint to score. This included a running sky hook.

Joey Kohnen – 2028 – SG – Slinger

As just a sophomore Joey has a great blend of skills to go along with his positional size as he stands at 6’5”. He got off to a quick start scoring with the games first five points just 75 seconds into play. Kohnen finished the win with 15 points. The sophomore scored it in numerous ways hitting a three, scored a pair of transition dunks off his own steals, as well as a basket posting up utilizing his size.
