Game one of the When Sides Collide Shootout at Benet Academy faced off New Trier up against Oswego East. From start to finish, this one was all New Trier, even while playing without the injured, Princeton commit Christopher Kirkpatrick. Not only did New Trier get a huge performance from High Point commit Danny Houlihan, but also got contributions from several players to win it 82-51 over Oswego East.

Danny Houlihan – 2026 – SG – New Trier

After a slow start with just 2 points in the first quarter, Houlihan quickly heated up in the second quarter and finished the first half with 15 points and then 28 by the end of the third quarter. Whether it was spotting up from the outside or creating in the mid-range, the High Point commit is such a pure shooter and has the size at 6’5” to his contested shots right over defenders. In the game, he knocked down five threes as well to a couple of mid-range pull ups. As well to his hot shooting, he also scored it on a couple of cuts to the basket. It’s safe to say that Houlihan is one of the top shooters in the entire Midwest region.

Mason Lockett – 2026 – PG – Oswego East

The DePaul commit was limited in the first quarter but was aggressively looking to score to start the second quarter. In the second quarter alone, Lockett scored 12 points. Lockett continued to score it effectively in the third quarter with back-to-back baskets to start the third quarter. The senior guard finished the game with 24 points He’s an athletic 6’5” guard with such a well-rounded skill set. He moves so well with the ball getting past his man and finishing it at a high rate all around the paint. Lockett also showed his shot making ability hitting a couple of threes as well to a pull up mid-range jumper.

Matthew Logue – 2027 – F – New Trier

Logue came off the bench and made an immediate impact to balloon the first half lead for New Trier. In the first half alone, the forward scored 10 points to have his team up 25 points at the half. He stands at 6’5” and plays bigger with his length and aggressiveness scoring strong inside through contact. Logue scored it strong posting up as well as on put backs and rolls.

Owen Foster – 2027 – F – New Trier

Foster was a big reason why New Trier was able to start the game 17-4. On the very first play of the game he scored on a driving basket and also added in a three, a pair of assists, and a pair of rebounds all in the first quarter. He is a versatile and impactful 6’6” forward who did a bit of everything in the win for New Trier. Foster shot it well hitting jumpers from both three and the mid-range, battled tough inside defensively blocking a couple of shots, and also passed it well with multiple a few assists in the game
