Hassan Makki was the breakout star this summer on the NY2LA Association while playing with the Michigan Warriors. The high level of play has continued into his senior season with Dearborn High School.
Over the course of the grassroots season, the 6’6” small forward averaged 10.9 points, 7 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 1.9 steals per game. The play of Makki was especially key when he led the Michigan Warriors to the championship game of the NY2LA Association. Makki earned All July team on the Association while leading his team to a 9-1 record that month. He has now upped those numbers in his senior season averaging 20 points, 14 rebounds, and 5 assists per game for Dearborn to a 4-1 record currently.
While he does have several colleges recruiting him currently, Makki still remains under recruited for a player of his level with all his translatable tools. Amongst the college programs showing the most interest in him include Albion, Michigan-Dearborn, Oakland Community, Olivet, and others.
“Versatility and my leadership,” are the first things Makki said about what he can bring to a college team. “I’m a vocal leader and there’s nothing on the court I can’t do, and I feel I can succeed in many roles.” Makki has a unique blend of abilities for the next level. As well to being 6’6”, the small forward has a highly versatile skill set on both ends of the floor and plays with great energy.
“A school that feels like home and believes in me with a great coaching staff,” Makki said about what he is looking for in his future college.
