While New Berlin West was able to get off to a very quick start and build a double-digit lead, Burlington would not go away. They made a run of their own to make the second half tight throughout. While Burlington had some chances in the final seconds to tie it up, New Berlin West was able to come away with the 70-68 win.

Matt Burkhart – 2026 – G – Burlington

Burkhart is a skilled scoring guard who got off to a quick start with 10 first half points. This was highlighted by his shooting ability hitting three threes in the game. He is a confident shooter spotting up from the outside as well when pulling up in the mid-range. The 6’3” guard was effective off the ball but also showed his ability to run the point playing strong with the ball in his hands.

Jayce Cook – 2027 – G – New Berlin West

Cook is a smart, skilled, and fundamentally sound guard. He is an exceptionally skilled scorer who led all in the game with 29 points leading New Berlin West to the victory as he continues his high scoring junior season. The guard did much of his damage with his jumper hitting four threes in the game as well to a mid-range jumper. While a marksman from the outside, he also added baskets with a nice floater and off a timely back door cut. Cook continues to emerge as one of the more skilled guards in Wisconsin’s 2027 class.

Evan Kern – 2026 – SG – New Berlin West

Kern started hot from the outside in the win getting New Berlin West up double digits in the first half. This included four threes in the first half on to an 18-point performance. As well to his knockdown outside shooting, his impact went much further. The 6’3” two guard was also physically attacking the basket and getting the line often, collecting 3 assists, and his tough and versatile defensive play. Kern is committed to UW-Stevens Point.

Luke Krueger – 2026 – PG – New Berlin West

While he scored an efficient 8 points in this game, his biggest contribution came with his distributing ability. The point guard finished the game with 6 assists and could have easily had a few more. He is a highly skilled passer who always knew where to go with the ball. He scored on a trio of drives getting all the way to the basket but was even better driving to distribute it with a few drive and kick out threes.

Emmett Munson – 2028 – SF – Burlington

Munson had a highly impact performance in this game. The small forward scored an efficient 16 points as well to doing plenty more. He stands at 6’4” but plays even bigger with his strength and aggressiveness. He scored it in a variety of ways including strong drives to the basket, posting up, a mid-range jumper, and hitting a three. Munson also made his impact with his physical interior defense playing big for his guard heavy team, aggressively attacking the glass, and collecting multiple assists as a good passing forward.
