From his grassroots season with ALL IN now into his senior season with Stevenson High School, Donny Williams has developed himself into one of the top available guards in Illinois’ 2026 class.
During his grassroots season with ALL IN, Williams averaged 13.2 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game on the Adidas 3SGB. Now in his senior season currently, Williams is averaging 16 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals per game to give Stevenson a 10-3 record currently. This is in addition to recently earning all-tournament honors at the Wheeling Hardwood Classic to help Stevenson take third place in the tournament.
Even with his breakout play, his recruitment has yet to catch up to his play. He is currently seeing the most of his recruitment interest from division three programs in the regions. The programs that Williams said are showing the most interest in him currently include Augustana, Lawrence, and North Central.
While the point guard may only stand at 6’0”, he plays much bigger with his great length and athleticism in addition to his quickness. His skills have also continued to greatly develop including his ability to run the point as well to becoming a consistent three-point shooter. He is a true playmaker with the ball in his hands who can score it from all three levels including as he can really create in the mid-range.
There are few players in Illinois who have progressed as much as Williams over the past year. If he continues to play at this current level, look for Williams to be a priority recruit at the division three level if not attract some interest from scholarship level programs. At the moment, Williams said that he has no timeline on when he would like to make his college commitment.
