While Adam Flowers has continued to produce throughout the year, his recruitment is still limited for a player of his level. This player started during the grassroots season with Mercury Elite and then into his senior season with Downers Grove South High School. Flowers remains one of the top available guards in Illinois’ 2026 class.
To finish off his grassroots, Flowers was one of the top guards at the NY2LA Summer Jam Tournament. The guard averaged 17.3 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 3 assists per game for Mercury Elite. Now with Downers Grove South, he has been one of the most productive players in all of Illinois. In just the opening week of the season, he had multiple games of over thirty points scored including one with a double-double. This included one with 39 points and 6 rebounds and another with 33 points and 10 rebounds. Since then, he has had multiple games of over 20 points including most recently one with 24 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists. This is all in addition to recently reaching the one-thousand-point milestone.
While all of this has translated into some increase in his recruitment, the guard still does remain under the radar with all his translatable tools. He has started to receive interest from division one programs. UIC has been showing interest in Flowers in addition to programs from multiple levels including several junior college programs.
There are few players available in the 2026 class that can match his blend of abilities on the floor. He has great positional size as a point guard standing at 6’4” in addition to a versatile skill set. He shown the ability to be able to score from all three levels with the ability to create for himself. Flowers excels on the attack getting to his spots in the mid-range with his ability to overpower opposing guards but also shoots it well off the dribble from the outside.
If Flowers continues to play like this, look for additional scholarship level programs to looks his way.
