Following a breakout sophomore high school season in which he was named Illinois 1A second team all-state at South Beloit High School and then had a big grassroots season with MTXE and then Power 5, Ross Robertson has developed into one of the top 2025 forwards in Illinois.
With the growth of his game, the 6’8” power forward has started to generate interest from numerous division one and two programs. Among the schools recruiting him include Indianapolis, Liberty, Loyola Chicago, Northern Michigan, UC-San Diego, Western Michigan, and Yale.
Recently at the end of October he took a visit to one of these schools at the division one level. “My visit to Loyola Chicago was amazing,” Robertson said about the trip to the in-state school. “They had an amazing coaching staff and provided me with amazing hospitality.”
While just halfway through his high school career, Robertson has already reached the one-thousand-point mark back in the middle of his sophomore season. In his upcoming junior season, he is looking to take the next step and reach the two-thousand-point mark. After winning a regional championship last season, he is looking to make it down state in his upcoming junior season. “Really create amazing relationships with my community, teammates, and most of all have fun doing it,” he said finishing up on his junior season goals.
