After just picking up his first division one offer back in August, the recruitment for Yusef Gray has continued to pick up. The 6’4” guard of West Allis Central High School (WI) has now added a couple of more offers including a high major one.
Bryant was the first program to extend an offer with both Arkansas State and Iowa State then offering him in October. Following his offer from the Cyclones, he took a visit to the Ames, Iowa campus last week. “My visit to Iowa State was great. I had a wonderful time. I’m excited to get back out there and to continue to build a relationship with all the coaches.” As well to his Iowa State visit, he went to Marquette for their Blue vs. Gold Scrimmage.
While it is still early in his high school basketball career, Gray has already been able to accomplish plenty. As a freshman at West Allis Central he has was able to lead his team in scoring, rebounding, assists, and steals with 19 points, 6.4 boards, 4.7 assists, and 1.5 steals a game. Then next into the grassroots season he led Phenom University to a 15U NY2LA Association Championship while being named first team all-association.
In addition to his three offers, some of the other schools showing interest in him include Cal, Illinois, Marquette, Northwestern, and Oklahoma. With his sophomore season almost here, Gray is looking to “Continue to get better, be a better leader on the floor and help my team get up to state.”
