Between his stellar performances at the Spring Extravaganza and Grassroots Showcase tournaments back in April with the Houston Superstars, Tk Lawson proved to be one of the top players as well as prospects on the NY2LA Association. With the 6’6” wing poised for a breakout summer; Lawson missed most of it due to an injury.
With his stellar play during the April live periods, Lawson got himself on plenty of division one coaches’ radars. One of these being McNeese State who extended a scholarship offer to the senior wing in April. “McNeese is a program that is headed in the right direction. The staff is building a culture of winning,” he said about the Southland Conference school.
Over the course of his play with the Houston Superstars, he continuously played at a high level and showed his wide range of abilities. Lawson is a lengthy and athletic wing that is a highly impactful player on both ends of the floor. He is a real tough on ball defender that matches up well with multiple positions. He is also a true stat stuffer who does the bulk of his scoring heading to the basket.
“To show my abilities fully healthy during my high school season,” Lawson is looking to prove. “I want to show that I compete at a high level against top competition. I want to show that I am one of the top players in a very competitive state like Texas.” Back healthy and on the court, the senior should be on plenty of scholarship coaches’ radars with all of his tools.
