After releasing his final five just a week ago, Chris Riddle has now made his college commitment. The 6’6” senior wing of Kenwood Academy in Chicago and the Mac Irvin Fire has announced his commitment to DePaul on Monday.
Riddle chose DePaul over the final five that also consisted of Akron, Illinois State, Northern Illinois, and UIC. In addition to his final five, Bradley, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Indiana State, Nevada, Toledo, UNLV, and others had all offered him.
The commitment comes after the senior had just taken his official visit to the nearby school in Chicago last week. “Really had a good connection with the team,” Riddle said about his visit.
Head coach Tony Stubblefield and the DePaul coaching staff played a big role in the wings decision. “I really had a connection with the coaches and the environment. Loved the plan they had for me at their school,” Riddle said about his college selection.
“I’m a physical player and the Big East is a physical conference,” he said about his future on the court playing at DePaul. “I can have an impact on the team with my shooting ability and my vision on the court.” As one of the top available seniors in all of Illinois, this marks a major addition to DePaul’s 2024 recruiting class.
