Over the weekend, Luke Hopp received a scholarship offer coming from Saginaw Valley State. The offer for the 6’8” forward of Metamora High School (IL) and MidPro Academy is the second division two offer for the senior.

Hopp received his first scholarship offer which was from Winona State early last month while on a visit to the Minnesota school. “Awesome,” was how he first described the visit. “The area was beautiful with the school being right on the Mississippi River. I gelled well with the coaches and really like their program.” As well to the visit to Winona State, he also took a visit to Olivet Nazarene last week. When asked about the visit to the in-state school, he said “Olivet has a beautiful campus, and I loved the atmosphere. I loved meeting the coaches and I like the culture they’ve built. I also enjoyed playing in an open gym with their guys.”

Coming up for visits for Hopp include scheduled ones to Augustana and Indiana Wesleyan. He is also planning on taking visits to Illinois Wesleyan, Indianapolis, and Saginaw Valley State. Some of the other schools recruiting him include Millikin and Missouri S&T.

After winning a state championship at Metamora during his junior season, Hopp is looking to win another state title to finish off high school career. “I think we have the tools to do it as long as we take it one day at a time…I’m also focused on leading my team and pushing us to be as good as we can be.”
