Back in July during both the Summer Jam and Final Chapter tournaments, one of the top forwards on the entire NY2LA Association was Daniel Allen. Behind the play of the 6’5” small forward, 2024 Moss Elite saw plenty of success in July. This included a quarterfinals appearance at Summer Jam and a silver bracket championship at the Final Chapter.

As well to plenty of team success, it has also led to a great boost in the recruitment interest for the rising senior. Following his high level of play in July, he recently picked up his first division two offer from Thomas More University. Allen also holds NAIA offers from Campbellsville and Lindsey Wilson College and a roster offer from division three Alma College. Some of the other programs showing the most interest in him include Centre, Concord, and Pikeville.

Over the past couple of weeks, Allen has taken a visit to a couple of these schools in Campbellsville and Thomas More. “Campbellsville visit went good, toured campus, had lunch with the coaches,” he said about the first of these visits. “Thomas More went great, toured campus, had a photo shoot, watched some film with the coach.”

While there is still a long way to go in the recruitment of Allen, there are already multiple things he is searching for in his future school and basketball program. “To have my degree of study, smaller class size, good vibes on campus, great relationship with coaches, somewhere I can come in and make an impact,” are all things he listed off.

“Knock down shooter,” was the first thing Allen said to describe his own game which was clearly evident with his play this summer with his outside shooting. “Make shots from anywhere on the court, can get to the rim when needed, can play with my back to the basket. I play with passion and play extremely hard.”
