After a breakout summer with MidPro Academy, the recruitment stock of Dietrich Richardson has started to rapidly grow. Not only has the 6’6” guard of Peoria Manual High School (IL) started to attract interest from division one programs nationwide but also received his first scholarship offer.

Last week Bryant University extended an offer to the rising junior. “It felt great to receive my first D1 offer. I’ve been working hard, it was only a matter of time. I’m very grateful for the opportunity and there is more room to grow,” he said about picking up the offer. Some of the other programs showing interest in Richardson currently include Boston College, Colorado State, Illinois State, Iowa, Iowa State, Notre Dame, Penn, Virginia Tech, and plenty of others. So far Richardson has taken a couple of visits, both to in-state schools; Bradley and Southern Illinois Edwardsville.

Back in July, Richardson was a big key to all the success of his 2025 MidPro Academy team. At the NY2LA Summer Jam they were able to advance to the championship game. The next week they took it a step further capturing the NY2LA Association Championship at The Final Chapter. “My season with MidPro went great. Got the exposure I needed and met some great people and built strong bonds.”

With all of his tools, Richardson is one of the higher upside players in the state of Illinois’ 2025 class. He has great size in the backcourt at 6’6” and is true playmaker on both sides of the ball. Throughout the spring and summer, he was one of the top defensive players on the entire NY2LA Association. The lengthy guard should continue to be a very popular target throughout his junior year.
