It has been a roller coaster of a recruitment over this summer for John Bol. After starting his summer with a commitment to one SEC school, the 7’2” center has now decided upon another SEC program.
Back in June, Bol announced his commitment to Florida. However, it did not last long as just a couple weeks later, the center opened his recruitment from the Gators. Then following an official visit to Ole Miss this past weekend, Bol announced his commitment to Chris Beard and staff on Monday. Bol chose Ole Miss over a long list of offers including Clemson, Illinois, Michigan, Missouri, Texas, UConn, Wake Forest, among others.
While Chris Beard has only been at Ole Miss for a few short months, he is making an immediate impact. Bol could end up being the highest rank recruit ever for Ole Miss. Bol is a consensus top fifty prospect in the nations 2024 class with the upside to be a top twenty player in the class as well as one of the top centers.
Bol is coming off a grassroots season with Mokan Elite where he was one of the top big men on the Nike EYBL. As well to being third at the 17U level in blocks averaging 2.7, he also had 6.2 points and 6.5 rebounds per game in just under 20 minutes of play. As well to standing at 7’2”, he has tremendous length with a wingspan just a few inches shy of eight feet. He has a developing offensive game but is already an elite rim protector with his size and mobility.
After spending last year at Sunrise Christian Academy, Bol will be playing for Overtime Elite this upcoming season.
