It has been a big several days of commitments from the Chapman Basketball Academy 2024 Gold Elite team. Not only did Nolan Minessale choose University of St. Thomas, but Michael McNabb also made his commitment, selecting Northern Michigan.

McNabb is coming off a staggering junior season at Grafton High School (WI) averaging 23.7 points 10.3 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game while shooting nearly 60% the field. He led the North Shore Conference in both scoring and rebounding to be named first team all-conference. Following his big junior season, he followed that up being one of the top 2024 players on the NY2LA Association throughout the spring and summer with Chapman Basketball Academy.

The 6’5” wing guard made his commitment to Northern Michigan after initially being offered by them back in October. As well to the Northern Michigan offer, McNabb also received division one offers from Albany and Northern Arizona.

“I love the coaching staff first and foremost,” McNabb said about his decision. “The relationship I built with them is unparallel to any of the other coaches I’ve talked to.” Ever since he took a visit to Northern Michigan last fall, he built a strong connection. “Loved it there. The facilities were very nice, and I could really see myself playing there.

There are a lot of different aspects McNabb will be bringing to Northern Michigan on the court next year. He has good positional size standing at 6’5” with a good solid build as well. He excels playing on the attack using both his moves and strength to get all the way to the basket. All around the basket he is a tremendous finisher, being able to get it done at a high rate with either hand. While he is at his best scoring around the paint, he is a more than capable outside shooter.

McNabb joins a growing list of players from Wisconsin’s 2024 class to have already made their college commitment. As well to him and his grassroots teammate Nolan Minessale, Ty Fernholz, Nick Janowksi, Bennett Basich, Dupree Fletcher, and Will Hornseth to have already made their commitments.
