Following the June scholastic live periods, Davis Bynum was one of the biggest breakout stars in not only Illinois but the entire Midwest. He entered June without a single division one offer but quickly changed that.

The 6’8” wing of East St. Louis High School shined throughout the Riverside Brookfield Shootout to get on plenty of college coaches’ radars. Following the shootout, Valparaiso quickly offered Bynum a scholarship. As well, Eastern Illinois, Southern Illinois Edwardsville, Cal State Fullerton, and Illinois State, have also offered him since. A long list of other schools are also recruiting him including Appalachian State, Colorado State, Evansville, Indiana State, Marquette, Missouri, Missouri State, North Dakota State, among others.

“Swiss army knife,” is what Bynum first said to describe his own game. “I can do everything on the court. I can score on all three levels very well. I can guard that one through five on the defensive end, and I’m also a great rebounder.”

Bynum recently took a visit to Missouri State. “The visit was great, had a good talk with the coaching staff, I got to scrimmage with the players, and they took me around campus.” The next visit planned for him is out west to Cal State Fullerton later this month.

The rising senior should continue to be a popular name this July while playing with Team Ramey.
