One of the biggest breakout stars over the past few months in Illinois as well as all of the Midwest was Dekwon Brown. While playing with DB Pro this spring, the 6’3” point guard was one of the top players on the NY2LA Association during the spring season. It has been a busy few months with not only his recruitment but also switching high schools joining one of the most well-known programs in the region.

In just the past few months, Brown has seen his recruitment stock take off. He received his first offer last February from Western Illinois. Over the past couple of months, he has really seen his offer list grow, he has added offers from High Point, Kent State, and Radford. Indiana State, IUPUI, Northwestern State, Southeast Missouri State, and Wisconsin-Green Bay are just some of the other programs showing interest in him.

Over the past couple of weeks, the rising senior has taken a pair of visits going to Kent State and Southern Illinois. “Visits been going really great, I’m very grateful,” he said about the pair of visits. He has no other visits planned currently but is looking at taking some following the July grassroots season.

As well to his recruitment, Brown also made a big move in switching high schools recently. After previously attending Peoria High School, Brown will be finishing off his high school career at Simeon. When asked about the move, he said “Simeon is a great powerhouse school. The coaches are amazing, same with the players. Great situation for me.”
