Following the recent live periods back in April, Connor May picked up his first scholarship offer from a division one program. This marks the second offer for the 6’7” wing forward of Breakaway Basketball and Palatine High School (IL). May is coming off a breakout junior season in which he averaged 18 points and 8 rebounds a game on his way to third team all-state honors from the IBCA.
“Spring has been going great,” May said about his play with Breakaway. “We are proud of what we accomplished in the Under Armor circuit and overall how we played in the spring season.” May and Breakaway started the spring season with a big performance at the NY2LA Swish N’ Dish advancing to the championship game of the 17U platinum division. They have only continued to rise from there with a 7-1 record after the first two Under Armor sessions.
Last week Lehigh University of the Patriot League extended an offer to May. They join division two Lewis University who had offered him back in December. Other programs showing interest include Bucknell, Colgate, Indiana State, Southeast Missouri State, as well as a few Ivy League programs.
May broke down both of the programs that have offered him to date. “A great school with a great coaching staff. They’ve always been very high on me as a player and competitor,” May said about Lewis. “Lehigh has been connecting with me for a while. They are a great school, have an even better coaching staff who like the way I play and my versatility.”
