Just a few days ago Rajan Roberts received his first scholarship offer. The 6’0” point guard of Proviso West High School and Team Rose joins a short list of freshmen in Illinois to already hold a division one offer.
The offer for Roberts came from in-state Northern Illinois University and head coach Rashon Burno. “Very exciting,” Roberts said about receiving his first offer. “I work every day to exhaustion so to see it pay off really felt great.”
When asked about what he likes about Northern Illinois, Roberts said “I feel it’s a great environment with the fans support and the coaches really want to see kids get to the next level.”
Even at a young age, Roberts has proven himself as one of the top guards in the state. For Proviso West this season he averaged 17.5 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game. “Shifty crafty guard who can understand when the team needs a bucket if that means finding the open man or scoring it myself. Really going for the best read,” he said describing his own game.
Roberts should be a popular target this spring with Team Rose.
