Following an official visit on Friday, Mason Funk picked up his first scholarship offer. The 6’5” wing guard of University High School and Illinois Predators picked up the offer from Minnesota State.

In his senior season, he averaged 17.4 points, 7.1 rebounds, 2.8 blocks, 2.6 assists, and 2.2 steals while shooting 49% from the field and 35% from three. He was awarded first team 2A All-State honors by the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association.

“The visits was a lot of fun,” Funk said about the trip to the division two school. “We started off with a tour of campus and got to check out the facilities and classes. Then we stopped for dinner with the coaches and players. From there, the players showed me around town, and I got to hang with the team.” Being able to talk with the players and coaches was his favorite part of the visit.

As well to the Minnesota State offer, Augustana and Illinois Wesleyan have also given him roster spot offers. At this point he has no timeline on when he is looking to make his college commitment. “I just want to make sure all opportunities have been addressed before I commit,” he said.
