The already loaded 2024 recruitment class for North Carolina continues to get even better. On Monday they added another major addition as they landed one more commitment from a five-star player. This one was from Ian Jackson, a 6’5” two guard of Cardinal Hayes High School (NY) and Wiz Kids, a consensus top three players nationally in his class.
Hubert Davis and staff had initially offered him this past summer in June. The commitment comes after he had just taken his official visit to Chapel Hill earlier this month.
Jackson marks the fourth commitment in the Tar Heels 2024 recruitment class. He joins point guard Elliot Cadeau, wing Drake Powell, and power forward James Brown. All four of the group are ranked amongst the top fifty players in the class while Jackson and Cadeau rank in the top fifteen of the class. With the addition of Jackson, North Carolina has the top 2024 class in the nation currently, and it could end up that way as well next year.
The highly touted junior picked the Tar Heels over his other offers from Arkansas, Kansas, Kansas State, Kentucky, Oklahoma State, Syracuse, UCLA, UConn, among others. Not only is Jackson one of the most explosive players in the 2024 class but has a very high skill level as well. He is gifted slasher but also has the ability to create his own shot. There are few players nationally that have his physical tools to go along with his high-level scoring ability.
