Tonight, highly touted five-star point guard Elliot Cadeau made his commitment. Back in October, the junior of Link Academy and New Heights Lightning, announced a top six of Kansas, Louisville, North Carolina, Syracuse, Texas, and Texas Tech. The 6’2” junior attends Link Academy this season. He hails from New Jersey and previously attended Bergen Catholic and plays with the New Heights Lightning.

Alongside his family tonight, Cadeau announced his commitment to North Carolina over his five other finalists. The commitment comes after he took an official visit to Chapel Hill back in early October of this year. North Carolina had initially offered him this past summer in July.

This marks a major recruiting coup for North Carolina as Cadeau is the highest ranked player in the Hubert Davis era. North Carolina is landing a consensus top fifteen prospect and the top point guard in the entire 2024 class. He is an athletic point guard that is an electric playmaker with a great ability to distribute as well as score the ball.

While there are only a handful of 2024 players who have made their commitment, North Carolina now has a pair of commitments in the class. Cadeau joins four-star Drake Powell, a 6’6” wing of Northwood High School. As well, they have a pair of 2023 commitments in combo guard Simeon Wilcher and power forward Zayden High. While now a member of the 2024 class, Cadeau could possibly reclassify into the 2023 class and arrive to Chapel Hill a year early.
