While it hasn’t even been a week since Brock Harding received his scholarship offer from Iowa, the point guard announced his commitment Thursday afternoon to the Hawkeyes. The offer and commitment come after Harding took a visit to the Iowa City campus earlier this week.

At Iowa, Harding will team up with his MidPro Academy and now high school teammate Owen Freeman. With this duo, the Hawkeyes have one of the more electric playmaking guards in the nation in Harding along with a nationally ranked 6’10” power forward in Freeman. The pair are the two commitments currently in Iowa’s 2023 recruitment class.

Iowa landed Harding over a long list of other scholarship offers. Appalachian State, Bradley, Cal Poly, Colorado State, Drake, Eastern Illinois, Illinois State, Loyola Chicago, Radford, Rice, Southern Illinois, and St. Louis are some of the other schools to have offered Harding.

The dynamic point guard has consistently performed at a high level. Last year Harding was a first team selection for the NY2LA Association and then followed it up with another first team pick for the Illinois 4A All-State by the IBCA for his junior season at Moline High School.

Not only did Fran McCaffery and staff land a commitment from Harding on Thursday, but Cooper Koch as well. A highly rated, 6’8” rising junior forward of Peoria Notre Dame High School.
