The 2025 class is shaping up to be a good one in the Midwest. While there were plenty of players who impressed and booster their stock at the Grassroots Invitational, here are some players that should be known in the near future. 

Julian Bunton – 2025 – G – Louisville Legends

In addition to being a skilled defender, Bunton also flashed some good scoring ability. With his athleticism and aggressiveness, the freshman is a tough on ball defender that can do so in space. He sticks so well with opposing guards being incredibly difficult to get by. Offensively he scored it well getting to the basket. Bunton moves well with the ball maneuvering around defenders and finishes well in traffic. 

Colin Clark – 2025 – F – Yanders Law

The long forward flashed some great skills over the tournament. Even as a 6’6” freshman forward, he has a good skill set. He is comfortable handling the ball and shot it well pulling up in the mid-range. Clark has great upside if he can continue to grow his skills. 

Tyler Davis – 2025 – PG – UTS Elite

A skilled point guard that showed a good ability to both score and distribute the basketball. A pin-point passer that plays well on the attack getting into the defense often to make plays. A good decision maker with the ball who reads the floor well. Not only did he score it often getting all the way to the bucket but also pulling up in the mid-range.

Yusef Gray – 2026 – G – Phenom University 

Gray was one of the more impactful players at 15U even with his team playing up a level. He is a tough perimeter defender that has the ability to shut down ball handlers as well to playing with great energy getting on the floor multiple times for loose balls. Will his well-rounded game he is a true stat stuffer that can do so much. Not only is he able to get to the basket often and finish but can also create for his teammates and is a guard that hits the glass. 

Juan Guerroro Hernandez – 2025 – PG – Chapman Basketball Gold Elite

It was another impressive tournament for the lengthy 6’3” point guard. He has a good array of abilities on both ends of the floor. A tough on ball defender with his quickness sticking with the ball and using his length to apply good pressure. He is strong with the ball in his hands running the point. He is a skilled passer that moves the ball well in addition to being able to get all the way to the rim often. 

Camron McDaniels – 2025 – SF – Louisville Legends

McDaniels showed a nice blend of skills, size, and strength all at a young age. He stands at 6’4” with a strong build and took advantages of his opportunities playing well off the dribble apart of a highly talented Louisville Legends team. He moves very well with the ball plus uses his strength to score it efficiently getting to the basket as well as in the mid-range, this included the game winning basket in one of his games. He also goes to work on the glass on both ends being very aggressive powering his way through the opposition. 

Bradley Stratton – 2025 – PG – Illinois Flight

With his play throughout the weekend, Stratton proved to be one of the more skilled point guards at the 15U level. While he can hit shots from the outside, he excels the most with his ability to attack the defense and create. He has nice moves off the dribble attacking, maneuvering around defenders in a crowd. He is a good crafty finisher around the paint but also can really create for his teammates. 

Josh Tinney – 2025 – G – Illinois Attack

A high energy guard to be a highly impactful player on the floor. He does so much for his team outworking players to contribute in a variety of ways. Tinney plays with good strength and battles his way to way through defenders. He gets to the bucket often finishing right through forwards. He is a tough defender that showed the ability to match up with nearly anyone and crashes the glass hard. 

Kobe Walker – 2025 – C – MidPro Academy

As well to being 6’8”, Walker is an aggressive post with a strong build. With all his physical tools, he is a highly impactful player in the paint on both ends. His biggest contribution was his ability to clean up the glass on both ends as well to being a tough and active defender inside. He has a developing offensive game and shows tons of upside.
