While Arkansas already had one of the strongest 2022 recruiting classes in the nation with five commitment including a pair of five-star players, Eric Musselman and staff added another five-star commitment to the class. This commitment came from Anthony Black of Duncanville High School (TX) and 3D Empire. The other finalist for Black were Gonzaga, Oklahoma State, TCU, and the G-League.

The McDonald’s All-American chose the Razorbacks over a long list of other suitors in addition to his finalist. Over the past year while playing with 3D Empire on the NY2LA Association, Black saw his recruitment take off receiving offers from Duke, Gonzaga, Illinois, Kansas, Memphis, NC State, Oklahoma, among others. With his play throughout his time on the NY2LA Association last year, he earned himself Co-MVP honors.

Black is one of the more unique and talented 2022 recruits in the entire nation. Even while standing at 6’7” he has exceptional guard skills and plays very well with the ball in his hands. He has a tremendous combination of feel, size, and vision. Black is a highly skilled playmaker that is at his best on the attack creating for himself and teammates. He has a very good decision-making ability. The guard has all the tools to be a highly impactful player from day one for a very talented Arkansas team with the ability to play multiple positions on the floor.

He will be joining fellow five-star prospects Nick Smith and Jordan Walsh as well as Barry Dunning, Derrian Ford, and Joseph Pinion in the 2022 recruitment class.
