Ohio State landed a big commitment in the way of 6’10” center Austin Parks. The junior of St. Marys Memorial High School and Ohio Buckets announced his commitment to the Buckeyes on Sunday. The commitment comes after Parks was initially offered by Ohio State last year in June.
The junior chose Ohio State over his other two finalist of Indiana and West Virginia. Other schools to have offered Parks previously include Cincinnati, Dayton, Illinois, Michigan State, Ohio, and Toledo.
Parks is a true post that has some physicality to his game. As well to standing at 6’10”, he has a good solid build in addition to some mobility and athleticism. He excels scoring with his back to the basket and has continued to grow the rest of his scoring ability. On the defensive end, he is a true rim protector that plays with a big motor.
Parks already marks the second commitment in Ohio State’s 2023 recruitment class. He joins George Washington III, a 6’2” point guard from Christian Academy of Louisville and JL3. Head coach Chris Holtmann and staff already have the foundation of a strong 2023 recruiting class early on.
