Class of 2022 Jackson Fields has seemed to find his comfort zone on the court. The 6’7 F/C out of Elkins High School just south of Houston, is a physical talent who is just starting to see the fruits of his labor in terms of preparation and production on the basketball court. He is an immediate impact guy every time he steps out on the court and is simply someone that coaches like to describe as the glue guy on their team. Although his personality may come across as quiet and reserved, he is one of the fiercest competitors that you will find all the state of Texas.

His frame at times gives the impression that he a man playing amongst boys. Physically he is almost impossible to guard one on one in the half court, always commanding a double team. He can score from various points on the floor but is most deadly going to basket and around the paint area. He has a natural feel for the game around the basket and has a soft touch. He anticipates the ball coming off the rim very well and puts himself in position to rebound offensively for put backs. He has spent a considerable amount of time in the gym improving his outside and it has shown recently. While most of damage is done around rim, he is getting more comfortable stepping out and shooting the mid-range shot. He also possesses the ability to find open teammates when double teamed as well as see up the floor and deliver outlet passes to start transition plays.

Defensively he can guard position on the floor at the high school level. He is quick enough to stay with smaller guards on the perimeter as well as guard players in the post. His quick leaping abilities allow to block shots as well as alter shots of opposing players who challenge him at the rim. He has a good feel for where is on the court and boxes out extremely well. He is not turnover prone and does commit unnecessary fouls. He is force on the floor and his energy that he brings each possession translates over to his teammates. He is one of the better players in the area that is still on the board, and it is only a matter of time before he knows where he will compete at the next level.
