Class of 2023 G Zac Pennington is what you call a natural born leader.  The Lake Hamilton, Arkansas standout is a role model student in the classroom boasting a near perfect GPA along with an excellent ACT score already.  This attitude and dedication have translated to how he approaches the game of basketball and how anything he wants to excel at he puts in the extra work.  This has fueled his passion to become one of the best all around student athletes in the state of Arkansas and perform collegiately at the next level.

He is what you call a true PG.  He is the quarterback for his team out on the floor and controls the tempo from start to finish.  He is lightning quick with the ball in his hand and constantly puts pressure on the defense.  He gets in the lanes and finds teammates for easy buckets in the half court.  He has above average court vision and can see plays before they happen.  His best attribute may very well be his decision making.  He takes pride in making plays and does not turn the ball over very much.  He can knock down the mid-range jump shot and has worked steadily at becoming a better three-point shooter.  He handles the ball very well with either hand or does not get rattled when teams apply pressure to him.  He also can finish near the basket with contact and is not afraid to challenge bigger opponents in the paint.

Defensively he plays the game with a lot of effort and passion.  What he lacks in size he makes up for in effort and toughness.  He defends very well on the ball and can keep guards in front of him.  He has an extremely high IQ and reads the floor well.  He anticipates the passing lanes wells and get a lot of steals that leads to easy transition baskets.  He also is particularly good and boxing out and rebounding for his size.  He approaches the game with the perfect mindset, and it has led to him having success despite only being a sophomore.  This approach also is one of the reasons why colleges will make him somebody that they keep close tabs on to land and run their program from the moment he steps on the floor. He recently picked up an offer from Southern Arkansas.

Last summer he competed against some of the best players in his class during the travel season for the well known and respected Arkansas Wolves Club.  His club coach has expressed that early on he knew Zac possesses all the tools to make a great PG and leader for a school at the next level.  Zac did not disappoint with his play and we fully expect for his buzz to increase and his play to continually develop over the next 12-18 months.
