Senior Trayton Trice ended his recruitment by making a commitment and signing with Lindenwood University and head coach Kyle Gerdeman. Trice, a 6’5” forward at Romeoville High School (IL), is coming off a junior season in which he averaged 9.7 points and 6.1 rebounds per game.
“I decided to commit now because it was a great opportunity,” Trice stated on why he made the decision now. As well to saying that the coaching staff makes sure all players graduate and pushes players on their grades.
Trice was also being recruited by a number of division one and two programs including Columbus State, Florida Gulf Coast, Quincy University, and Western Colorado. As well to having been offered a scholarship from University of Detroit.
“Lindenwood has a big beautiful campus, it’s a great community,” Trice mentioned as a leading reason for making his commitment to Lindenwood. In addition, he mentioned, “I loved the teams practice, it was competitive and intense. They have a great coaching staff, it felt like a family being around the players and coaches.”
When looking ahead to his future at Lindenwood, Trice sees his game fitting in with their style of play. “I feel like I can contribute in the system they run and the coaching staff is great. I see myself fitting into their system because they are big on points,” the senior also stated.
Trice is currently the lone signee of Lindenwood’s 2021 recruitment class. The team is coming off of a 12-16 season. They will get their 2020-21 season underway Friday versus Missouri S&T
