The class of 2022 is shaping up to be one of those that may very well end up producing some of the best talent that has been seen nationally in few years. Front and center in that conversation is talented wing Terrance Arceneaux of Beaumont, TX who has a chance to be one the most prized recruits in the state when it is all said and done.
Standing at 6’6 and 195 pounds, his athleticism and energy on both ends of the court separate him from most of the players in his class. He has unbelievable instincts offensively and sees the game from an advanced level. A true high riser, he does not need much room to blow by defenders and finish at the rim with jaw dropping dunks. He has a natural feel for the game and does not force the issue offensively so instead of pressing the issue, he finds a way to always be effective within the offense. He has developed the skill set to play multiple positions on the floor and score at will if his team needs him to. His frame and elite athleticism make scoring in the post almost second nature in the half court and can fend off the double teams by finding open teammates for easy baskets. While still improving his jump shot, he has put in the work to consistently knock the mid-range shot as well as step out behind the three and become a legit threat from behind three-point arc.
Defensively he plays with a lot of aggression and passion. He anticipates well, he has solid feel, and he keeps players in front of him with his long arms and elite level footwork. His leaping ability allows him to grab rebounds and push the break as well as understand how to have sound positioning in the post for defensive rebounds.
A high ceiling prospects who is just scratching the surface in terms of potential, Arceneaux has some of the biggest schools in the country are taking notice and lining up early to get a shot at landing this prized recruit. With his current trajectory we fully anticipate him being a potential top 25 talent nationally and one of the best in Texas when it is all said and done.
His on court play has landed him offers from Lamar, LSU, Old Dominion, Oral Roberts, Rice, TCU, and Texas A&M to date. Schools that have shown great interest as of late are IONA, ECU, and University of Houston. This list will only continue to grow he continues to flourish on the court as well as in the classroom.
