Over the past few years, the state of Texas has been home to some of the best guards in the country.  The likes of RJ Hampton as well as Cade Cunningham have set the stage for a new a crop of talent out of the Loan Star state.  2022 G Keyonte George may very well be the next prospect out that will leave his mark on the basketball court like the guards that came before him.

Standing 6’4, George already has the height and the strength to cause serious matchup problems at the high school level.  A three-level scorer with great instincts allows him to play multiple positions on the offensive end.  He has above average ball handling skills and will attack the rim every chance that he gets.  He is a gifted athlete who has put in a lot of work to improve his outside shot over the last summer.  He can step out from well beyond the arc and consistently make the three, or he can pull up from the mid-range when the defense is aggressive on the perimeter.  While his decision making has some room for growth, his passing has improved considerably.  This has allowed for him to not only play off the ball, but also in a PG role as he can find open teammates for easy baskets in the half court as well as transition.

Defensively he seen some growth by being more aggressive on every possession.  He has great instincts as size which allows him to get in the passing lanes and get steals that lead to transition plays.  He has great positioning on rebounding and is very sound as a on ball defender.  He can switch off on smaller guards because of his speed as well as bigger defenders because of size and strength.  He is a legit top 25 national prospect and some of the best universities in the nation are taking notice.

His outstanding growth over the last year has gained him offers from Arizona, Baylor, Kansas, Ole Miss, and TCU.  He most recently received offers from Texas and Texas A&M.  George should only see this list continue to grow as he has become one of the top targets nationally for the class of 2022.  Keyonte plays for the Drive Nation grassroots travel program.
