The NY2LA Sports Breakfast of Champions Fall Basketball League hit the hardwood for the second time this past weekend and junior forward Jaylen Key followed up his strong opening week efforts with one of the best individual performances in BOC history this past weekend. We begin our coverage of week 2 with a look at Key, 2014 SF D’Angelo Jackson and other top performers in the Platinum Division this past weekend…

JAYLEN KEY – 2015 – F – HOMESTEAD H.S. – MILWAUKEE (WI)

Elevated his play once again from his opening week Player of Week honors to deliver one of the single best performances in BOC history this past weekend. Dominated the floor from start to finish as he scored with consistency and efficiency at high level by attacking the rim, finishing in transition, scoring in the post and knocking down mid-range looks. Add to the mix excellent activity and energy on the glass on both ends and Key played exceptional this past weekend.
(2) D’ANGELO JACKSON – 2014 – SF – RACINE CASE – RACINE (WI)
Stat Line – 38.5 FIPG – 18 EPG – 17 MPG – 19.5 PPG – 10.5 RPG – 4 APG – 3.5 SPG
Jackson really took his activity and floor game to another level this past weekend as he was constantly on the attack, he was aggressive on the glass, he scored from all three levels, he distributed the ball for easy opportunities, and he brought solid energy to the floor on the defensive end of the court. A complete floor performance that was dominant and efficient in the same sense this past weekend.
(3) LAMONTE BEARDEN – 2014 – PG – GERMANTOWN – GERMANTOWN (WI)
Stat Line – 34.5 FIPG – 12.5 EPG – 9 MPG – 23.5 PPG – 5 RPG – 3 APG – 1 SPG
A strong effort this past weekend for Bearden who delivered a solid efficient floor game and contributed across the board. He set up teammates for easy opportunities, scored from every level in a variety of ways, showed solid athleticism, etc. A nice overall performance for the Buffalo bound lead guard.
(4) DIAMONTE FREEMAN – 2015 – G/F – MILWAUKEE KING – MILWAUKEE (WI)
Stat Line – 27.5 FIPG – 16 EPG – 16.5 MPG – 9.5 PPG – 10.5 RPG – 3.5 APG – 3.5 SPG
Really impressed with his floor activity and contributions without the ball as he brought excellent energy to both ends of the court and made a number of things happen. Finished in transition and attacked the rim well off the bounce, was aggressive on the glass on both ends, made solid passes and created easy opportunities, and he was active and disruptive on the defensive end of the court. An efficient and dominant floor effort for the talented wing from the City Conference.
(5) CEDRIC POLK – 2014 – SG – WISCONSIN LUTHERAN – MILWAUKEE (WI)

Continues to elevate his play while delivering consistent dominant floor efforts that are equally efficient. He was active on both ends, created on the offensive end, scored from all three levels, finished in transition, and was active on the glass. A strong performance this past weekend.
(6) JEROME CUMMINGS – 2015 – G/F – WEST ALLIS CENTRAL – MILWAUKEE (WI)

His calling card is consistently his energy and activity and this past weekend he was aggressive once again and played hard on both ends with positive results. Has a nice feel for the game that he pairs with nice instincts and excellent effort on both ends to deliver strong floor performances each time on the court. He did that again this past weekend as he scored with dominance, attacked the glass, delivered solid passes, etc. Another nice weekend for the emerging junior.
(7) CHRISTIAN SIMON – 2015 – SG – BROOKFIELD EAST – BROOKFIELD (WI)

The sharpshooting perimeter talent did a great job this weekend of elevating his activity and aggressiveness on both ends of the court and the result was a strong performance this past weekend. He showed a solid perimeter shooting skill package with range that extended beyond the arc and he brought nice activity on the glass and solid defensive instincts as well. Overall he played a complete floor game on both ends throughout the day and delivered a strong efficient performance in the process.
(8) MARCUS MYERS – 2014 – PG – GREENFIELD – MILWAUKEE (WI)
Stat Line – 27.5 FIPG – 12.5 EPG – 11 MPG – 15 PPG – 7.5 RPG – 3 APG – 1.5 SPG
The emerging senior played a sound floor game this past weekend where he made some nice decisions with the basketball, finished with consistency, brought solid activity to the defensive end of the court, and attacked the glass and rim off the bounce with effectiveness. A nice overall performance for Myers who opened some eyes this past weekend with his performance.
(9) JEVON SMITH – 2015 – SG – MILWAUKEE LUTHERAN – MILWAUKEE (WI)
Stat Line – 28 FIPG – 8 EPG – 11 MPG – 12.5 PPG – 11 RPG – 2.5 SPG – 1.5 BPG
The strong athletic wing brought some excellent energy and activity to the court this past weekend as he attacked the glass, played solid on the ball and off the ball defense, and found ways to contribute both with and without the basketball. Scored off the bounce attacking the rim and finished in transition while also knocking down a few mid-range looks. A solid step forward as he showed he could defense in the post and on the perimeter and his activity, effort, and energy were very good from start to finish.
(10) MARCUS WHITE – 2014 – SF – MILWAUKEE VINCENT – MILWAUKEE (WI)
Stat Line – 31.5 FIPG – 9 EPG – 7 MPG – 22.5 PPG – 6.5 RPG – 1.5 SPG
Delivered a solid performance where he attacked the rim, showed nice power and athleticism, and extended his range beyond the arc with positive results. Was active on the glass, brought improved energy to the defensive end of the court, etc. A nice effort for White again this past weekend.
(11) REED TIMMER – 2014 – PG – NEW BERLIN EISENHOWER – NEW BERLIN (WI)
Stat Line – 29 FIPG – 8 EPG – 9 MPG – 18 PPG – 7 RPG – 3 APG
Struggled from the field but made up for it with solid decisions and nice leadership at times. Made key shots when he needed to and in the same sense made quality decisions and plays when he needed to. Brought some solid energy to the court on both ends, attacked the glass, found ways to get his teammates involved, etc. A solid effort this past weekend.
(12) DEARIONTE HUDSON – 2014 – PG – GERMANTOWN – GERMANTOWN (WI)
Stat Line – 31 FIPG – 4 EPG – 7 MPG – 20.5 PPG – 6.5 RPG – 3.5 APG
Hudson was active and aggressive throughout the day and brought nice energy to the court by attacking the rim, collecting rebounds, and making things happen offensively. Struggled a bit with turnovers and missed shots but still managed to deliver a quality overall performance by contributing in a number of different areas and competing from start to finish. Would like to see his efficiency elevate moving forward as doing so would really solidify his production on the court.
(13) LEVI BRADLEY – 2015 – SF – MILWAUKEE PIUS XI – MILWAUKEE (WI)
Stat Line – 27 FIPG – 9.5 EPG – 8 MPG – 17 PPG – 6 RPG – 1 APG – 3 BPG
Was very active and aggressive in the opening game on both ends and the result was an exceptionally dominant floor performance. The second game his energy and activity level dipped a bit but he still managed to contribute in a variety of ways. Overall he showed excellent timing on the defensive end, a nice ability to attack the glass at times and finish around the basket, decent post skills, solid transition skills, and an ability to step away from the basket and knock down the jumper at times.
(14) BRANDON COOPER – 2015 – SF – MILWAUKEE VINCENT – MILWAUKEE (WI)
Stat Line – 24.5 FIPG – 10 EPG – 13 MPG – 10.5 PPG – 9.5 RPG – 2 APG – 1.5 SPG
Contributed with energy and activity both with and without the basketball and produced a solid floor performance in the process. He scored around the basket in a variety of ways, collected a number of rebounds, was disruptive defensively, and made things happen on both ends. A solid floor performance this past weekend for the emerging forward.
(15 tie) PAUL KOIER – 2015 – PF – MENOMONEE FALLS – MENOMONEE FALLS (WI)
Stat Line – 24 FIPG – 8.5 EPG – 7.5 MPG – 13 PPG – 9 RPG – 1 BPG
Stepped up his play this past weekend as he finished with efficiency and consistency while attacking the glass and mixing in some nice energy defensively. Continues to play hard and contribute with and without the basketball and that was evident once again as he delivered a nice performance.
(15 tie) ROMEO BOUIE – 2015 – SG – RACINE ST. CATHERINES – RACINE (WI)
Stat Line – 23.5 FIPG – 12 EPG – 9 MPG – 14.5 PPG – 6.5 RPG – 1.5 APG – 1 SPG
Opened up with his best effort this fall as he attacked, scored from each level, and brought excellent energy and activity to both ends by attacking the glass, delivering solid passes, and being disruptive defensively. Didn’t bring the same activity or energy to the floor the second game but overall his production was strong throughout the day and he showed flashes of his dominant ability at times this past weekend. Would like to see him bring the type of play he had in the opening game to the court consistently moving forward as the results would be huge for him.
