Day two of the 2013 Generation Next Invitational Championships tipped off from Homestead High School in Mequon, Wisconsin on Saturday. Teams began the day by jockeying for playoff position, and by the time Saturday wrapped up, the playoffs had been set and begun. We continue our coverage of the event with a recap of day two…

Top Performers
Donovan Billings – 2019 – PF – Playground Elite
5-10 – Blessed Savior – Milwaukee, WI

Billings put together a monster performance Saturday morning, scoring 18 points in a winning effort. The 5-10 forward was aggressive throughout the game, attacking the basket and finishing through contact.

Virshon Cotton – 2017 – PG – TP Elite
5-5 – Garden Holmes Lutheran – Milwaukee, WI

Cotton led TP Elite to another win Saturday night, scoring in double figures and hovering around 10 assists. The 5-5 floor general is a very good ball handler, facilitator, and is quite fast with the ball in his hands.

Trequan Carrington – 2019 – G – Playground Elite
5-4 – G.H.T.C.A. – Playground Elite

Carrington had it going Saturday afternoon in an easy win over Kingdom Hoops. The 5-4 guard was constantly in the paint, breaking down his defender off the dribble with ease. Carrington finished the game with a game-high 18 points.

Fred Cleveland – 2019 – PG – Chicago Fury
4-9 – Ariel Community Academy – Chicago, IL

Cleveland will often be the smallest player on the floor, but the 4-9 guard is fearless on the court. Cleveland isn’t afraid of the big shot and knocked down a couple of tough ones en route to a 16-point performance in a win over Illinois Future Saturday night.

Jordan Davis – 2020 – F – Wisconsin Playground Warriors
5-5 – Central – La Crosse, WI

Davis is a do-it-all forward for the Playground Warriors, who cruised to a 20-point victory over Kingdom Hoops Saturday morning. Davis recorded eight points as well as a handful of steals and rebounds. The 5-5 forward is the playmaker for his team, always creating opportunities for himself and others.

Jonathan Davis – 2020 – F – Wisconsin Playground Warriors
5-5 – Central – La Crosse, WI

Davis scored a game-high 16 points for the Playground Warriors in their win over Kingdom Hoops Saturday morning. The 5-5 forward finished off plays very well inside, using good strength and athleticism down low.

Anthony Lynch – 2018 – G/F – Kessel Heat
5-8 – Kenyon Woods – South Elgin, IL

Lynch made all sorts of plays for Kessel Heat during Saturday night’s win over Kingdom Hoops. The 5-8 swing man is always pushing the tempo and looking for opportunities to help his team. Lynch scored in double figures and packed the stat sheet when the game was all said and done.

Johntae Martin – 2019 – F – Milwaukee Spartans
6-0 – Morris Marshall – Milwaukee, WI

Martin scored a game-high 19 points in a tight loss to Illinois future Saturday afternoon. The big, strong forward was very efficient down low, using his size and strength to muscle his way to a big game.

Tremayne Martin – 2019 – SG – Illinois Future
5-7- Washington (WI) – Waukegan, IL

Martin is a smoother operator at the guard position and the 5-7 wing uses his long frame to finish over defenders. Martin also shot the ball well from 3-point range in a Saturday afternoon win, scoring a team-high 17 points.

Davonte Williams – 2018 – G/F – Chicago Fury
5-6 – Wendelle Green – Chicago, IL

His efforts weren’t needed in a blowout win over Illinois Future Saturday night, but Williams was still very productive, pitching in 10 points and a number of rebounds. Williams runs the floor very well and knows how to find the rim offensively.
