The 2013 Swish ‘N Dish Spring Warm-Up continued on Saturday and the electric atmosphere of the Platinum Showcase Championship format brought additional energy to the gym as players like sophomore standout Jalen Brunson of the Mac Irvin Fire exploded with 31 points in a scintillating performance.  We continue our coverage of the annual hoops spectacular with part two of our day 2 recap…

Jalen Brunson - 2015 - PG - Mac Irvin Fire
6-2 - Stevenson H.S. - Lincolnshire, IL

The young highly-touted guard out of Illinois was astounding vs. the St. Louis Eagles.  Brunson was absolutely “cold” offensively utilizing his shake to get the defenders off balance before draining three’s - five - in their faces. He also attacked the cup really well and finished in traffic. He finished with 31 points officially.

Brevin Pritzl - 2015 - G - WI Playground Warriors
6-3 - DePere H.S. - DePere, WI

Pritzl was steady versus the Illinois Celtics early in the day, scoring six quick points and grabbing some rebounds.  The sophomore had a big second half (13 points) and was efficient from the free throw stripe. He finishes so well in traffic using his body to ward off shot blockers... Pritzl finished with19 points.

Kyle Monroe - 2015 - SF - WI Blizzard-Pronschinske
6-5 - Ashwaubenon H.S. - Ashwaubenon, WI

The young forward was stellar in their early round game Saturday, scoring 17 points.  His ability to turn the corner and get to the rim off the bounce was impressive and he showed the skill to hit difficult shots as well.

Luwane Pipkins - 2015 - PG - Meanstreets
5-9 - Bogan H.S. - Chicago, IL

Luwane is an exciting young guard to watch.  He was extremely quick setting up teammates for quality looks by blowing by his own defender. Pipkins can also shoot the ball a tad as he knocked in three consecutive triples down the stretch to give Meanstreets a late chance against Net Gain. The sophomore guard ended the game with 18 points

Nick Noskowiak - 2015 - PG - WI Playground Warriors
6-2 - Sun Prairie H.S. - Sun Prairie, WI

Noskowiak started slow against the Celtics, but showed his resolve and his leadership presence, stepping up to hit four 3‘s and 17 points in the second half to help his team to the win - He was sensational and finished with 19 points total.

Tyler Seibring - 2015 - G/F - Net Gain Sports
6-7 - Normal Community H.S. - Towanda, IL

Seibring was on fire all game, hitting 6 three-point attempts and playing strong defensively using his instincts and hard-work to compensate for his developing athleticism - major upside with this young man... He finished with 18 points.

Larry Austin Jr. - 2014 - G - St. Louis Eagles
6-1 - Lanphier H.S. - Springfield, IL

Austin does a great job facilitating the ball, giving out 6 assists for the game.  He slashed to the hoop pretty well but his mid-range shot was not falling consistently for him against Mac Irvin Fire... He wound up with a solid 12 points.

Jordan Barnett - 2014 - F - St. Louis Eagles
6-7 - CBC H.S. - St. Louis, MO

Barnett struggled a bit offensively against Mac Irvin Fire, but played with a lot of energy, got his hands in on a lot of the 50/50 or hustle plays, and grabbed 7 rebounds on hi was to 7 points for the game.

Jahlil Okafor - 2014 - C - Mac Irvin Fire
6-9 - Whitney Young H.S. - Chicago, IL

Okafor is consistently dominant! Every game he plays he chips away at the opponent with a variety of post moves and sheer force around the basket. In the quarterfinal matchup against the talented St. Louis Eagles, Okafor put together 20 points and 4 blocks despite early foul trouble.

Jae’Sean Tate - 2014 - SF - All Ohio Red
6-5 - Pickerington H.S. - Pickerington, OH

The Ohio State commit played great once again for All Ohio Red in a losing effort to IL Wolves and fellow 2014 Buckeyes bound commit Bates-Diop. Tate finished with 15 points, showed great hustle and energy, attacked the rim and finished with a soft touch at the basket as well as displaying his bounce with two very nice dunks.

Casey Schlatter – 2014 - F – Iowa Barnstormers
6-9 – Iowa Falls Alden H.S. – Ackley, IA

The talented junior delivered some solid performances again on Saturday in the same fashion as Friday night.  He put the ball in the basket in a variety of ways, showed solid instincts, and was active and impressive at times.

Jerome Cummings - 2015 - G - DTA
6-2 - West Allis Central H.S. - Milwaukee, WI

Cummings led the way for his team with some big shots that accounted for 14 total points. When DTA needed a basket, Cummings found the shot and knocked it down... He is smooth in his movement and is coming along with his decision making.

Matt Hauser - 2015 - G - Team Zona
6-0 - Thousand Oaks H.S. - Thousand Oaks, CA

The sophomore kept his Zona team in the game against DTA with some sharp-shooting from beyond the arc.  Hauser sank 4 three-pointers, showed off some range with them too and also proved capable of finishing against contact going to the basket. He wound up with 15 points.

Reed Timmer - 2014 - PG - Ray Allen Select
6-1 - New Berlin Eisenhower H.S. - New Berlin, WI

Timmer just continues to be solid.  He controls the game from the point spot, moved without the ball very well and knocked down a few shots off tough takes which included showing off the ability to finish at the basket or drop in the floater when necessary. He ended up with 15 points in RAS’s narrow quarterfinal victory over Iowa Barnstormers.

Roosevelt Smart - 2015 - G - IL Wolves
6-2 - Palatine H.S. - Palatine, IL

Really enjoyed watching Smart play against Kingdom Hoops Elite. He plays bigger than his size, but is quick and athletic.  Smart showed leaping ability with a two handed fast-break slam dunk, as well as the skill to hit from range with a couple nice three-point shots and finished with 14 points.

Mark Winston - 2015 - G/F - IL Celtics
6-4 - Plainfield Central H.S. - Crest Hill, IL

Winston impressed all on-lookers with his performance against a pretty stout defensive Playground Warriors unit. Winston finished with 18 points with strong and athletic takes to the basket and knocking down some shots including an easy-looking release on a perimeter shot he hit early on.
