The newest commitment from Wisconsin’s 2025 class is Anthony Rise. The 6’0” point guard of Brookfield Central High School and Chapman Basketball Academy announced his commitment to Hawaii Hilo earlier this week.
Hawaii Hilo is a division two program and a member of the PacWest Conference. They had offered Rise a scholarship last month in September. There were multiple aspects that had Rise choosing Hawaii Hilo. “The coaching staff was one of the things I loved most. Coach Aiona and Jaymo made me feel at home from the jump. And same with the guys on the team, I felt as if I was already a player. And as in the city of Hilo, coming from Wisconsin and the cold weather I could get or ask for anything better,” Rise said. He had also been offered by Northern Michigan University.
The commitment comes after Rise took a visit out west in September to Hawaii Hilo. “It was amazing,” Rise said about the visit. “Everything I wanted in a place, program, family, and school was in one.”
On his future playing for Hawaii Hilo, Rise said “I see my scrappy-ness on defense helping the team get out and play in transition as they love to do. I also see my ability to score and to be a leader benefit the team and program.” In his junior season at Brookfield Central, Rise averaged 12.8 points along with 4.9 assists.
