We were back at the Berto Center this past Sunday for another day of the All In Athletics girls fall league. Week five once again provided plenty of standouts throughout the day of action.
Amelia Clark – G – All In Kahleaf
Right from the start of the day, Clark shined with her playmaking ability on the attack. With a quick first step and the ability to operate through heavy traffic, Clark was consistently creating for her team. While the guard was able to score it herself often getting all the way to the basket, she also really looks to distribute the ball and made several impressive passes. She stood out the most with her play attacking but also was impactful with her full court pressure defense and hit a couple of threes.
Emily Currey – SF – Maine South
Currey was a key reason for the success on the day of her Maine South team. The senior was one of the most impactful players of the day with her very well-rounded game, consistently playing extremely hard, and having some size. She plays with great defensive energy and moves well as a forward to be able to defend multiple positions. Currey also showed her shooting ability hitting jumpers from all over, is a skilled passing forward, and finished it strong around the basket.
Grace Dunigan – G – Mundelein
After shining back at week three of the fall league, Dunigan was even better this time. While she can truly do so much on the court, she showed even more ability to run the point and be a playmaker off the dribble on Sunday paired with her physical abilities. This was highlighted by not just her ability to physically attack the basket, but the junior was also shooting it well off the dribble from both the outside and mid-range. Add this in with her great ability to rebound as a guard and be an extremely versatile defender which included multiple blocked shots and forced turnovers, Dunigan is a breakout guard for college coaches to know.
Natalie Feldner – G – Hustle
Over the course of her pair of games, Feldner proved to be one of the top shooters of the day. When spotting up from the outside, the guard has such a pure jumper when spotting up from the outside. More than just a spot up shooter though, Felder can also handle the ball and showed a good mid-range pull up game.
Julia Fonseca – SG – Hustle
Throughout her games on Sunday, Fonseca made a ton of plays. Not only does she have some size in the backcourt but was also playing with energy and has a good all-around game. This was especially true with her shot making ability, high energy and versatile defensive play, great rebounding from the backcourt, and ability to go strong to the basket.
Leah Gilbertson – G/F – Lake Zurich
Gilbertson continues to shine each time we see her play. As a mobile and lengthy 6’1” wing with a well-rounded game, the Ferris State commit is always making a ton of plays. On Sunday, this included playing very tough and active inside on both ends of the floor, scoring it well on the attack, blocking a few shots, and hitting a couple of threes.
