As Alex Jamison has continued to excel on the hardwood over the last several months, his recruitment has started to rise. This includes receiving his first scholarship offer for the 6’3” rising senior guard of Port Huron Northern High School (MI) and the Reach Legends. In his junior season, he was named second team all-state by the AP in addition to academic all-state honors and recording his one thousand career point during the season.
The offer for the guard came from Lake Superior State, an in-state division two program. “It feels amazing to know that I have a chance to play at the next level,” Jamsion said about picking up his first offer. When asked if there was anything he liked about the Lakers, he said “The coaching staff is very welcoming and fun to talk to. Also, the players there have a special team chemistry on and off the court.”
“This spring with Reach was great. We were able to find a rhythm throughout the spring which made us successful,” Jamison had to say about his spring grassroots season. During the May live period, he was one of the top guards at the NY2LA Next Level Invitational helping Reach Legends to a 4-0 record. His tournament performance included a 17-point game in addition to shooting 51.9% from the field and 55.6% from three during the tournament. As well, the guard added in 5.5 assists, 4.8 rebounds, and 2 steals per game.
While Lake Superior State is the first offer for Jamison, he has received interest from some other college programs as well. Amongst these schools are Albion College and University of Chicago.
