Earlier this week, one of Illinois’ top available points guards, AJ Levin took a visit. The 6’0” senior of York High School and Young & Reckless made the trip to Ivy League member Penn. On the official visit, Levine received an offer from head coach Steve Donahue and the Quakers staff.
“It was amazing,” Levine said about his trip to the Philadelphia school. “They treated my family and I really well and we had a great time. I got to meet with all sorts of important people that I would need to know if I decided to go there. It was a very busy two days but really fun. It was great getting close with the coaching staff and even hanging out with the team for a while.”
As well to the offer from Penn, Northern Illinois had also offered him back in July. When asked about them, Levine said “I like the fact that NIU is close and accessible for my parents. Also, they play in a highly competitive conference and play a tough schedule.” Some of the other schools also recruiting him include Marist, UW-Milwaukee, as well as few other Ivy League members.
Following the visit, Levine sees a commitment coming soon for him. “I believe I’ll make my decision in the next week or sooner,” he said about his commitment timeline. Before he heads to college next year, he still has a goal of helping York to a state championship this season. “A lot of people are sleeping on us and this season I want to prove to everyone we are legit. We have a good schedule and really do have a chance to prove ourselves, especially in the Jack Tosh Tournament and within conference play.”
