AJ Bender Makes Commitment Following Visit

Following a visit this past weekend, AJ Bender quickly made his commitment. After taking his visit to Minnesota State Mankato, the senior 6’3” two guard of announced his commitment to the division two program on Monday. As a junior last season at Lake Mills High School (WI), he averaged 22 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 4.3 assists leading them to a 23-4 record. 

Minnesota State Mankato offered Bender at end of his summer after playing with the Wisconsin Playmakers. This came while meeting with their coaching staff. 

“It was great,” Bender said about his visit over the weekend. ”I knew it was the place I wanted to be right when I stepped on campus and got around the team.”

“They have the formula to winning and have great chemistry,” Bender first said about his decision on choosing them. Adding in, “Along with have great facilities and school that loves their athletics.” 

Minnesota State Mankato is coming off of a 35-2 season in which they won the division two national championship. For his future playing for the Mavericks, Bender said “I see my game helping them in all types of ways, they run a lot of similar stuff that we run at my high school, and I’m a winner, and will do whatever takes to help the team succeed.”
